In high school, each class passed receives .5 or 1.0 credit. A student must have 26 credits to graduate. There are other options, but those can only be made after the student's sophomore year and must have administrator approval and be in the best interest of the student. Students will begin high school with a goal of completing a Business & Industry Endorsement, but may also graduate with multiple endorsements.
To understand how Grade Point Average is figured at Slocum High School, please refer to our student handbook.
After a student's sophomore year, they may qualify for the dual credit program, where classes are taken at Trinity Valley Community College and both high school and college credit is earned. It is important to make good grades to qualify for the dual credit program.
