Hiring With Us

Here at St James' Glen Iris we have several halls and smaller rooms for hiring. They are suitable for a range of different activities such as community groups, dancing groups, NFP's and children's events. In our halls complex, we have a large hall, a small hall, meeting room, playroom, kitchen, kitchenette, bathroom, and backyard area. Our worship centre is also available for hire. We have a small carpark out the front of the complex, and a number 6 tram stop right outside for public transport access. Our complex is child-safe with child-proof fencing surrounding the halls, and disability friendly with ramps to entrances. 

Hire rates are set at reasonable community prices with booking times set at a minimum of 2 hours (with a refundable $200 bond) as well as all-day bookings and weekend bookings. Please note that our bathrooms are automatically included in every booking. All ongoing hires must have a current public liability insurance cover of $10,000,000.00 in order to hire. And hires including significant amounts of food, will require a cleaning fee and will have a bond of $500, which will be refunded should no damage occur.

Lastly, hires of a spiritual or religious nature need to be consistent with the fundamental beliefs and principles of the Christian faith and the Anglican Church, and will need to be approved by the vicar.

Large Hall

Our large hall has dimensions of 16m X 11m and is perfect for 80-150 people. Audio systems are available for hire, if music would like to be included. Trestle tables and chairs are available also. Please indicate how many are required when filling out an enquiry.

$60.00 per hour for hire, with $200.00 bond payment

Small Hall

Our small hall has dimensions of 11m X 11m and is suitable for 60-100 people. There is an attached kitchenette and two doors that lead out to our backyard area. This room has fully functioning heating and air-conditioning, as well as A/V , trestle tables and chairs available. 

$50.00 per hour for hire, with $200.00 bond payment

Meeting Room

Our meeting room is carpeted and has dimensions of 11m X 4m. This room is appropriate for 10-20 people, and there are tables and chairs available. This room is adjacent to our small hall, but also has a separate entrance door. Please note, the cupboards are not for personal storage without the express permission of St James Office. 

This room does have heating available. 

$35.00 per hour for hire with $200.00 bond payment

Playroom

Our playroom is well equipped with soft play areas, children's toys and child-proof fencing from the kitchen. Its dimensions are 8m X 11m and is suitable for 20-30 people. This room also has easy access via the kitchen to the backyard area. Please note, any damage accrued to the children's toys and learning tools, will incur a cost.

$50.00 per hour for hire, with $200.00 bond payment

Backyard Area

Our backyard area has a small playground area, a sandpit and a BBQ available for hire. The whole area is fenced off with child-proof fencing, and can be easily accessed from the small hall or the kitchen.

$35.00 per hour for hire, with $200.00 bond payment (cost can be combined with another space if it is hired in conjunction)

Kitchen

Our kitchen has dimensions of 7m x 3m and is a fully equipped non-commercial kitchen. We have two sinks, a dishwasher, two ovens, stovetop, kettle and urn, cutlery , glasses, mugs, and a range of other serving equipment, and a full sized fridge. If anything else is required, then enquire with St James' Office.

$10.00 per hour for hire, with $200.00 bond payment (cost can be combined with another space if it is hired in conjunction)

Worship Centre

Our worship centre can comfortably seat 220 people and have up to 300 in standing room capacity. There is an adjacent kitchenette and meeting room. Full sound desk and A/V support upon request is available. Please note, this space is not available on Sunday mornings or important Anglican holy days. The pipe organ may only be accessed upon request and with approved users.

$50.00 per hour for hire, with $200.00 bond payment
