When Jesus answered questions about what the Christian life should look like, he said it was a life of LOVE, loving God with all that we are, body, mind, soul, spirit, and loving our neighbours as we love ourselves, (Mark 12:28-33).
At St James we want to do just that, loving God above all else and loving people in tangible ways, meeting their felt needs as best we can.
Volunteer at Saint James Church
Thank you so much for your interest in volunteering with us! There are so many ways to help out! If you enjoy gardening, you might feel led to help out at working bees. If you love cooking and baking, you could join the Sunday morning hospitality team. And if you decide to attend Saint James as your home church, you might be called upon to help plan Messy Church, to welcome people at the front door, to join the Kids Ministry Team, the Band or the Prayer Ministry Team.
We look forward to getting to know you and hopefully working together to build God's kingdom in this little corner of Glen Iris.
Volunteer at St James Op Shop
We have a wonderful group of volunteers who run our community Op Shop. Come if you need to buy clothing and goods you can afford or if you are after a bargain. Come if you want to connect with someone and just say hello.
*The op shop has been temporarily closed due to a staff health emergency. Starting Monday 10th November 2025, we will be open again on Mondays and Thursdays only, for the forseeable future, and we will update our website as changes occur.
Opening Hours:
10am – 4pm, Mondays and Thursdays
There is a wide range of goods including designer labels at very reasonable prices.
The shop is staffed by friendly volunteers who are trained in Safe Ministry.
