4th/5th: Recorders

4th and 5th grade Game Plan books introduce the recorder as the students' path to reading notes on the music staff. Every student will receive their own personal school recorder, and they will be the only person to touch their recorders all year with the exception of myself, when I get them washed.

You are more than welcome to provide a personal recorder for your student instead of using the school recorder. Make sure that the recorder you purchase is a soprano recorder, as there are different sizes (there is a sopranino, so read carefully when searching!), and please have the recorder marked with your child's name. The model that we use in the classroom is the Yamaha YRS-24B plastic soprano recorder.
