4th Grade general music students will be beginning the year by playing recorder using the Recorder Karate series. Students will be provided with a recorder and safety equipment (players' mask and bell cover). We hope to earn up to our red belt by December! In the second semester, we will focus on music writing, Orff instruments, jazz music, world percussion, and music theater.

5th Grade General Music students will start the year in chorus. After our December concert, students will be studying instrument families and classifications. We are building and designing instruments along the way. We will also be studying song form in a rock band unit later on this year, and using iPads and GarageBand to compose our own songs!
