5th Grade General Music
5th Grade General Music students will start the year in chorus. After our December concert, students will be studying instrument families and classifications. We are building and designing instruments along the way. We will also be studying song form in a rock band unit later on this year, and using iPads and GarageBand to compose our own songs!

6th Grade general music students are currently studying music history periods and learning about famous composers from each time period. Soon, we will be moving through units involving ukuleles, world drums and orff instruments, and music technology.

Franz Schubert (1797 - 1828) was a Austrian composer of the late Classical era and early Romantic era. Schubert is most well-known for his vocal works, symphonies, and a large body of piano works. He wrote an amazing amount of music considering his early death at the age of 31.
