Global Changes What are global changes? Can you guess?
They are changes that affect the ENTIRE image.
These affects will change the aspect of any layer BELOW IT, so make sure to make these adjustments FIRST (mind where the layer falls in your work.)
FIRST! Make sure you know how to access you adjustment layers.
2 WAYS
You can always find your layer adjustments at the bottom of your layers palette under the "Create new fill or adjustment layer".
You can select the adjustment you would like to apply to your image.
OR
Go to Window > Adjustments
They will appear in a group above your layers.
Hover your mouse over the icons to find out what each adjustment layer does.
Exposure
This adjustment changes the exposure of your image. You can make the entire image brighter or dark by sliding the toggle.
Levels
You can adjust the lighting with more precision when using levels.
The white toggle should slide to edge of the information where white begins on the histogram.
The black toggle should slide to the edge of the info where black begins on the histogram.
The mid-tone toggle (in the center) can be adjusted to where you like it!

Curves
Curves allows you to adjust the contract/ brightness of an image with a lot of control.
You want to make only SLIGHT or SMALL changes in curves.
Make an "S-Curve" in you curves layer that looks like this
NOTICE there are only 3 points... one in the center, one on the top right quadrant and one on the bottom left.
Hue/ Saturation
Hue means color.
Saturation refers to the degree of intensity of the color.
To desaturate means to take AWAY color.
A SUPER saturated images have color added to it to make it more intense.
Color Balance
In a color photo, use the eye dropper tool on a sidewalk or a grey building.
Read the numbers, which one is the most off?
Adjust the colors under “master” in the correct slider
