HEAD COACH 

David Cassaw

Record 390-130 6 League Championships, 4 CIFSD Championships, 1 SoCal Regional Championship 17 Seasons

Coach Cassaw is in his Fifteenth year as the head basketball coach of the Mavericks.  He has guided the Mavericks to 14 trips to the playoffs, five trips to the CIF SD Semi-finals, four CIF SD Championships, two trips to the SoCal Regional State Quarterfinals, One SoCal Regional Championship and one State Runner-up.  In 2006 he was named the Hall of Champions Coach of the Year and selected to coach the North County All-Stars.   He was selected as the 2012 Coach of the year for the CIF SD section.  Coach Cassaw started his coaching career while attending Kansas State University.  From 1991-1994, he was an assistant coach at Blue Valley-Randolph High School. Upon graduation from KSU he was tabbed as the head coach at Golden Plains High School located in Rexford KS.  He served as the Bulldogs coach from 1994-1997.  He then became the LCC JV coach from 1997-1999.  Coach Cassaw Currently teaches AP World History and P.E. He is married to Krista Cassaw and they have two daughters, Katy and Abby.  

Coach Cassaw was featured in 2013 in a Time Warner Cable segment on Southern California coaches titled "Game Changers" 

Tom Meeks Varsity Assistant Coach -18 years at LCC 

Tom Meeks has served as a basketball coach in a variety of settings. He started coaching in Minnesota at Bethel College as a freshman head coach and varsity assistant from 1971-1975. He was also an assistant coach at the Chosen Valley High School in Chatfield, Minnesota from 1975-1980. 

Brian Faulstich- Varsity Asst. Coach - (LCC Alumni 1997) Brian has served as the Head JV Coach and Varsity Assistant Coach over the past 6 years.   Brian is an LCC Alum, he played 3 years Varsity basketball and earned 1st team all CIF and Avocado League Player of the Year in 1999. He attended Chico State University and earned his bachelor's degree in communications in 2004. Brian continued his basketball career at Chico where he led the Wildcats to their 1st NCAA tournament appearance in over 15 years. He also earned 1st team all CCAA and team MVP in the same 2003 -2004 season. He currently resides in Del Mar and works as a Marketing Representative for Federated Insurance.
