CHASE BUDINGER

LCC -Chase earned a number of accolades and awards at LCC....Ranked as the no.07 prospect in the country and the No.2 small forward by the Bob Gibbon's All-Star Sports top 100. McDonalds All-American, Parade All American First Team, Gatorade State Player of the Year, Union-Tribune Player of the Year (3 straight years).   In addition he led the team to it's first ever CIF SD Championship scoring 50 points in the title game. Chase set a number of records while at LCC during his senior year he became San Diego's all time scoring leader. He still holds the record for scoring average for a career 32.0 and is second in Most Points Scored in a Season.  Legendary Coach Lute Olson recruited him to play at Arizona. 

ARIZONA- Chase earned Freshman of the Year in the Pac-10 in 2007 he finished that season ranked 7th in the Pac-10 in scoring. For his career at UA he averaged 17 points and 6 rebounds over three years.  He Finished his career ranked 11th on Arizona's scoring list. He scored 1,697 points in his three years at Arizona the most points scored by any player in three season or less in the history of UA...earned All-America honorable Mention for his Sophomore and Junior seasons. He was named first team All-Pac-10 as a junior.  Follwing his Junior year Chase opted to enter the NBA draft.

NBA -Chase was drafted in the second round of the NBA draft by The Detroit Pistons who subsequently traded him to the Houston Rockets.  Chase proved himself as a rookie earning 20 minutes per game and averaged 9 points per game.  Chase spent three seasons with the Rockets before he was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves prior to the 2012-2013 season. Chase has continued to stay active in his high school and San Diego community as he hosts a youth camp each summer at LCC.  

Chase was named Co-MVP of the McDonalds All American game with Kevin Durant
