Curriclum and Schedule

Reading, writing, word study and more! In first grade, students blossom into readers and authors. This year we are using a program called Journey's that integrates common-core based instruction into every lesson and differentiates the curriculum to meet the needs of all learners. We will be using The Daily Five structure to practice working on phonics, writing, reading to a partner, reading independently, and listening to reading while a group of students does guided reading with the teacher. Encourage your child to read every night whether it is reading to a sibling, listening to a family member read, or reading alone!
