About Ms. Keipert

Ms. Keipert is delighted to be back for her eleventh year at McCracken Middle School, and her sixteenth total year teaching middle school choir. She conducts the sixth grade choirs, seventh and eighth grade Concert Choirs, seventh and eighth grade Singers, and the vocal ensemble Hornet Harmony. She also teaches seventh and eighth grade general music classes and directs, music directs, and choreographs the musical. Before she came to McCracken, Ms. Keipert spent five years as the director of choirs and general music teacher at Chippewa Middle School in Des Plaines. Ms. Keipert is a proud graduate of Augustana College (Rock Island) and holds a masters degree from Olivet Nazarene University. Her professional affiliations include the American Choral Directors Association, National Association for Music Education, Sigma Alpha Iota, and Pi Kappa Lambda. She was the 2018 recipient of the Barbara Buehlman Young Conductor Award from the Illinois Grade School Music Association.

In addition to her conducting work at McCracken, Ms. Keipert is the Associate Conductor and Soprano Section Leader of the Chicago Chamber Choir. She spent twelve summers as the music director for Caught in the Act theatre in Palatine. Ms. Keipert is a frequent clinician and judge for vocal and choral competitions and festivals. She maintains an active performance career, and she frequently appears as a vocal soloist with such ensembles as the Antiqua Baroque Consort, Illinois Brass Band, and Mt. Prospect Community Band. Ms. Keipert also is an avid performer of musical theatre: favorite past roles have included Kathy (Singin' in the Rain), Missy (The Marvelous Wonderettes), Marian (The Music Man), Cinderella (Into the Woods), Narrator (Joseph...), and Sarah (Guys and Dolls).
