Requesting Letters of Recommendation

I am happy to write letters of recommendation for my students and to applaud your successes. Here are my expectations:

• That you did/are doing your best in a course you had with me
• That you ask in person, at least 2 weeks in advance of when you need the letter
• That you give me, electronically or in hard-copy form:
  • Counselor's recommendation form (see Counseling Center for a copy)
  • Summary of your achievements
  • Where the recommendation will be used (college name, volunteer program, job, scholarship program link, etc)

This will enable me to write the strongest possible letter that highlights your achievements and character.
