Prayer

Prayer is the primary work of a monk. While some of the monks may be teachers, or administrators, or pastors, all of the monks are called to a life of prayer. The monks gather in Church several tiems a day for communal prayer, the Liturgy of the Hours. But monks also spend time in private prayer and lectio divina, or spiritual reading.
