TRYOUT CHECKLIST

AIA Physical Packet (Use physical packet link - uploaded to Register My Athlete)
Tryout Fee $40.00 (cash only- Bring on tryout day)
Prepare 45 second solo (jazz, contemporary or hip hop - must contain 3-4 technical skills)
**Bring LOTS of water and snacks
The audition process will take place in late July for currently enrolled students each year; any student enrolled in that current school year may audition. Dancers must meet the eligibility requirements established by Salpointe Catholic High School and AIA. A qualified panel of judges will be brought in to select the team.
* All dancers must audition every year for Pomline
* In addition to ability, the dancer will be observed throughout the process for cooperation, effort, attitude, and potential.
*All Dancers are eligible to make the Varsity Competitive Team.
* Auditions are closed to the public, including parents and friends of the participant.
* Selection of membership is only valid if, the dancer has not been selected by the Cheer Program.
* All decisions are final. No scores will be distributed after the tryout.

WHAT TO WEAR: Outfit should be form-fitting and allow the judges to see your lines, jazz shoes, NO HALF TOPS.
APPEARANCE: Please be aware this is an important part of the selection process. You should be "game ready" at all times throughout the process. This includes hair pulled away from your face (ponytail or bun) and make up.
TECHNICAL ELEMENTS:
* Pirouettes (triple+, coupe, combinations of pirouettes)
* Second Turns: sets of 8, changing spot, pirouettes and floats
* Leaps: Center, straight, single double stags/calypso,
* Jumps: toe touch, herky, hurdler, and chaine center
* Flexibility: high kicks, splits, standing tilt, leg hold/turn, needle, scorpion
* Acrobatic Skills: Front/Back Walkover, Aerial Cartwheel, Front Aerial, Headspring, Kip-up, Back Handspring, Back Tuck
* Style, Musicality, Sharpness, Memorization, Communication, Projection
