The fundamental purpose of PBIS is to make schools more effective learning environments. RRCS plans to do this by focusing on these four core values: Respectful, Responsible, Caring, Safe
PBIS is a school-wide behavior plan. The four rules of: “Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Caring, and Be Safe” apply to ALL settings and ALL areas of Goldwood (classroom, hallway, restroom, bus, Goldwood Room etc.). Students will learn the expectations of RRCS for each setting. In addition, all students and teachers will follow the same “Voice Levels”, so students always know what is expected in various school settings.
As incentives for students following the expectations, teachers and staff members will give out “Pirate Bucks”. A student may be “caught” following the rules, and therefore earn a Pirate Buck for their class. There will be different goals and incentives throughout the year and for different quarters, but the students will always be earning for their classroom team, not earning for only themselves. Team work makes the dream work!
In addition, students will earn Pirate Bucks on their own in our classroom. Students will have the opportunity to buy special items/privileges with their earned Pirate Bucks!
