8th grade band students thanks for attending the preview at the high school.  Please know that you can do band and sports as they do not conflict at the high school.  We have had many star athletes in band.  Band students are currently participating in every sport offered at the high school and have for as long as I know.  Being in band will help you academically.  The concert band had the 7th highest GPA in all of Iowa and the jazz band had the #1 GPA of any music group in Iowa according to the Iowa High School Music Association this past school year.  The R-S Color Guard has received the Distinguished Academic Award of a GPA of (3.5 - 4.0) from ISDTA since 2003.  Please email me or call me with any questions about band.  Remember we are R-S band and Let's Have Fun!
