Congratulations to the 4th Grade Candidates for next year's Officer Positions. They gave their amazing speeches this morning. The primary election (4th graders voted) was held today, and the top three candidates for each position will give their speeches to the Student Council at the  Wednesday, May 23rd meeting, and the Student Council will vote for next year's officers.  Click here for pictures from this morning's speeches.

New Business: President Evan will call on:

  • Mrs. Simacek - Next meeting 5/23 meeting – Election of 4th grade to be 5th grade officers next year & End of Year Picnic 5/30 (want to invite substitute representatives?)
  • French Adventure – Claire will lead discussion about how to be kind and include French students in our daily activities
  • USS TRUMAN…(see back of Agenda)

 

Old Business  Layla will call on:

·         Please share what we did today with your classroom, and have your teacher sign and date it before our next meeting.

  • Bryn – Update on Staff Appreciation Committee - Clean up moved to 5/11 snow melts

Adjourn  Layla will ask for a motion to adjourn; a second is also needed.  Listen to announcements & check the display case by the main star bathroom. 

  • The next meeting will be on Wednesday, May 23rd at Noon to listen to and vote for the 2018-19 officer candidates.  The end-of-year picnic will be on May 30th.

If you would like to and are able to help, I am looking for the following suggested items donated prior to the last week of school.

* mouthwash ( not large)

* laundry pods

* microwave popcorn

* candy - no chocolate ( they were headed to a very warm area)

* peanuts ( no shells)/snacks

* they loved the magnetic frames from the dollar store

 

I will gladly accept monetary donations that would go towards care items and shipping costs. They would appreciate knowing that we are thinking of them here at home. Please direct all donations to me.

The 4th graders were introduced to the 2018-19 Officer positions 4-23 & 4-24. Interested candidates for President, Vice-President, or Secretary are to turn in their signed contract, poster, and speech (2 copies) to the office by 5-9-18.

What a wonderful meeting and party today! Thanks to Mrs. Storz for making each homemade crust and personalized pizzas! Thanks to the wonderful parent helpers for setting up, keeping the party going smoothly, and the clean up.  Thanks to our fabulous officers for planning fun activities for the party. Thanks to the students and families for contributing tasty treats as well.  It was a FUN party!!!

CONGRATULATIONS, Murray Park/Quest students & families!  You collected 798 items - over 400 pounds of food that was delivered to the Food Pantry on 12-13-17. Thank you Mrs. Storz & A'viands for coordinating and delivering the items.  The 5th graders collected the most items, and Mrs. Storz will be treating them to an ice cream party.  Way to go, everyone!  See District Facebook for pictures - click here

What: Canned/Boxed items Food Drive 

non-perishable items  (food or household

supplies-paper towel, dish soap are always needed)

When: Monday, December 4-Friday, December 8, 2017
Why: Bring a little holiday spirit to those in our

community in need

Where: MP/Q will have designated drop-off locations (boxes at the star)

              Items will be tallied every day, so all students see the challenge
             By grade level, the group that donates the most will receive an ice cream social

The Student Council had their first meeting today.  Below is the agenda.  Students are to share with their class today or tomorrow six things:  
1) They taste tested a breakfast burrito with Aviand's Food Service Director, Mrs. Briony Storz.  They are to share their thoughts about the burrito being served this coming Tuesday for breakfast 
2) They were asked to promote the "Great Apple Crunch" on Thursday, October 12th, the goal is to have 1000 students bite into an apple at the same time in the Ripon Area School District.  
3)  Student Emily asked if the Council would like to start a project for the hurricane victims.  Representative Caroline made a motion to have a food drive for the hurricane survivors. Stay tuned for details. 
4) Students who signed up for Student Council committees should check near the star bathrooms if they forgot which committee(s) they are on.  
5) Thank you to Mrs. Pokorny & the Student Council Spirit Committee for the fun Homecoming posters and promoting wearing orange and black during Homecoming Week last week.  
6) Student Council representatives are to turn in their permission slip for the 10-24 field trip to Madison to Mrs. Simacek by October 5th. Extra copies attached at the bottom of the website.
