Thank your classrooms for a great job during the December food drive.

The students did an amazing job telling about our leadership activities this year - VP Alli spoke about the leadership conference in Madison; Secretary Aya spoke about the Veterans Day program, and President Carver spoke about thanking the school board with an appreciation song. They answered questions and did a super job! They represented Quest/MP very well!!

Thank you to our Student Council officers, Mrs. Brooks, and all the Veterans who participated in this year's Veterans Day program. On Friday, November 11, 2016, students and staff honored veterans in a Veterans Day Assembly. Many veterans and their family members joined us in the gymnasium. The program began with “The Pledge of Allegiance” led by our Student Council officers. Then, HS Junior, Jake Elliott and HS Senior, Matthew Theune, played a touching rendition of echoing “Taps”. Then, the entire gymnasium honored veterans with a moment of silence. The 5th grade choir sang “The Star Spangled Banner”. Veterans Jeremiah Hansen and Bryan Markel then spoke about what Veterans Day means to them in very touching words. The Student Council officers shared what they are thankful for to our veterans. Then, they shared a song “We Appreciate You” sung to the veterans. The veterans all stood and received a round of applause. The student body then stood and sang “Veterans Day” to the veterans. Veterans were able to pick up a flag with an appreciation note written by a Murray Park/Quest student. Click this link to view the photos from this touching program.
On Thursday, October 13, 2016, 33 of Quest/Murray Park’s Student Council representatives, officers, as well as their advisor, Mrs. Simacek, and 4 parent helpers, headed to the WASC (Wisconsin Association of School Councils) Elementary Leadership Institute in Madison. They had a fantastic time! They all arrived by 7 AM to be able to get to Madison on time.
We started at the Capitol. Students learned about the Olympic Rings of Leadership: 1) confidence, 2) creativity, 3) listening, 4) compromise, and 5) perseverance.
Students learned about how government works and more about leadership from State Senator Jon Erpenbach of the 27th District while sitting in the State Capitol Assembly Chambers - yes, the leather chairs!
Then after a snack, they walked a few blocks to the Madison Public Library where they continued to learn leadership skills in activities entitled: “Olympic Ring,” “Leadership Styles,” Faster, Higher, Stronger, Leader,” “Structure Building”, “Medal Maker, and “Alphabet Game”. The children we very well behaved, and they made Quest/MPES proud. The bus driver even complimented them!!
Our own Quest President designed the wonderful t-shirts this year worn by all on this great trip!
