Audition Information
Chamber Singers is the award-winning auditioned choral ensemble at Scotts Ridge Middle School. If you love choral music and enjoy singing, consider auditioning! There are two main concert obligations, one in the winter and one in the spring. At the end of the year, the Chamber Singers attend a competition and a trip to Lake Compounce for the day. The link below will take you to the registration form with all the necessary information about the group and the audition process.
The audition will consist of the following elements:
Sing America ("My Country, 'Tis of Thee").
Sing Row, Row, Row Your Boat in canon with another singer (either another auditioner or me).
A short sight-singing example (more on this at the registration link below).
If you need to learn the tune to either America or Row, Row, Row Your Boat, recordings and sheet music can be found by clicking here.

Something to think about for your audition:
The Ideal Chamber Singer:
Sings with accurate pitch, rhythm, and diction
Sings with adequate volume to be heard clearly at a distance
Sings confidently
Sings expressively
Is reliable and responsible
Is an exemplary student in work and conduct, both in Chamber Singers and in their enrolled music class
These are the qualities I look for in those who audition.
When preparing for your audition, it is helpful to record yourself and listen to yourself singing to make improvements and adjustments.
