Progress Monitoring

Progress monitoring for reading and math can take place during your intervention/enrichment time. The interventionist assesses the students in their group. This may or may not be the homeroom teacher of the student. Building progress monitoring into your intervention/enrichment time is just another way to protect your core instruction. Progress monitoring dates are included in the creation of the calendars.

The purposes of progress monitoring in the three-tier model are (1) to check the success of the intervention/instruction and (2) to compare a student’s performance to like-peers within the same intervention group. Keeping in mind that benchmarking places students in tiers, progress monitoring no longer moves a student from one tier to another, yet it is still very important.

The Progress Monitoring Tool below is an easy way to keep track of all progress monitoring data for students within an intervention group.
