How to annotate in Preview
Students and teachers are often asked to annotate a pdf. Preview application on the MacBook allows the user to add annotations to a pdf. Watch the video below to learn how.
**Note: If the pdf is created from a "scanned copy" or an image, words cannot be highlighted with the normal tool. Text can still be added.
Changing pdfs to open with Preview Instead of Adobe
Sometimes, a pdf file will open with Adobe instead of Preview. Follow the instructions in the video (or written) above to find out how to set all pdfs on your computer to open with Preview by default.
***Note - the directions in this video can be used to change other file types to open with other programs by selecting the software you want to open the files with.
Download PDFs and open with Preview instead of in Chrome Window
By default, a pdf will open Inside the browsing window when using Chrome. If you would like for the pdf to always download and open in Preview, follow the directions in this document.
