HOCHSTEIN DANCE & DRUMMING RESOURCES

At the end of the 2020-2021 Academic Year, Dr. Eva Thomas applied for and received a grant to bring culturally authentic music and movement experiences to our classrooms in partnership with Molina Health and the Hochstein School of Music and Dance. Through this collaboration, we are receiving ten (10) videos centering on African dance and music styles and ten (10) videos centering on Hispanic/Latin dance and music styles. Once delivered, this videos will be available through the end of the 2021-2022 Academic Year.

Please share ONE video per week with families via SeeSaw. If you wish to share these videos with your students during the school day, please consider making them a "choice" during Work Time so students can participate when they wish. We recommend you use the same video during Work Time that you shared with families each week for continuity. Due to the length and complexity of these videos, we are discouraging use during Large Group Time.

We are aware that some of the movements featured in these videos are complex and will require adult scaffolding in order for students to be successful. As time allows, we will be creating supplemental videos to scaffold those movement sections that you can use to support individual needs.

Please use the YouTube Links if you choose to incorporate these videos during Work Time.

YouTube Videos as they are easier to access, provide a much higher resolution, and have better audio quality.
