At DSpES we follow all SOAR expectations as seen above!
In our classroom we also follow all SOAR expectations along with other classroom expectations.
ClassDojo!
Each student in the classroom has a Dojo monster. Your student will earn points depending upon the behaviors they display during the school day. This serves as an overall reflection of expectations to be followed. Please make a parent account and join my class when you receive the class code.
There are five rules in the classroom along with SOAR expectations that students are taught and expectations are understood. When you activate your parent account you will be able to see your students points they have earned. There is a school reflection sheet for students that may have a difficult day and struggle remember some school or classroom rules. We focus on a Restorative Justice approach to behaviors. If this sheet comes home, please go over it with you child, sign, and return to me. The first three of these sheets will not go any farther than a parent, teacher, and student. After three reflections, the behavior will be discussed with administration to help find strategies to assist both the student and I in the classroom using a restorative approach.
If a three level communication paper (a white, yellow, and pink form) comes home... This is after three reflections, from a more serious offense, from another adult, or from the principal. If this comes from the teacher it is because of a more serious matter and cause for a higher level of communication.
I look forward to a great school year and hope you take a moment to log into ClassDojo!
Thank you,
Mrs. Karen Crapo
