Science and social studies will follow the Core Knowledge Curriculum. If you are not familiar with Core Knowledge, you can pick up a copy of What Your Fourth Grader Needs to Know by E.D. Hirsh. Core Knowledge builds on prior knowledge from grade to grade, therefore avoiding repetition of material while expanding your child's mind and interest in learning. The Core Knowledge curriculum stems from the idea that all students should attain a "core" or common body of knowledge. This knowledge base includes a strong understanding of geography, history, and science. Our curriculum also incorporates a broad base of literature, music, and other fine arts.
