The Pattonville Gifted Program believes:

  • All students have a right to an education commensurate with their ability to learn and all children should be challenged to their highest potential. Students who demonstrate potential far beyond that of their peers may need differentiated programs and services, which may include opportunities beyond the regular classroom.

  • Gifted students come from all cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and possess unique abilities and needs. The curriculum planned for them must be diverse, advanced and complex enough to meet their needs. These opportunities should provide for growth in intellectual, creative, affective and aesthetic domains.

  • The Pattonville Gifted Program does not substitute or replace the excellent classroom instruction and enrichment already provided by the district. Instead, it provides options compatible with the advanced development and interests of the gifted learners.
