Choreography Showcase 2010

Create-A-Company!!

On Monday, June 21st, the second grade students of PS 170 produced their own "choreography showcase" as their exit project from our school's dance program. The students in each class selected a specific style of dance, a name for their new dance company, and appropriate accompaniment. They then selected their roles in the production of their dance company based on their interests:

*Costume Designers: selecting costume items for the company's performance

*Set Designers: creating a panel of artwork to hang as the background for the company's performance

*Promotions Team: creating a flyer advertising the company's performance to be distributed to parents

*Lead Choreographers: structuring the dance overall and creating the whole-class portions of choreography

The students then proceeded to choreograph the remainder of the piece and rehearse like crazy to perform at the show!
