My name is Ms. Meyer and I am so excited to have the opportunity to design and run the Media Program at Laurel Elementary School. I am here to create and enhance learning experiences for our students and I am very happy to be a part of our school community. Our Media Center motto is "Explore our World...Visit our Media Center" and I look forward to helping our students learn, grow and explore the world through my teaching coupled with Media Center books and resources.
Media Program Mission: To ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information. To help students learn, grow and become lifelong learners.
Our program strives to empower our students to use skills, resources and tools to: inquire; gain critical thinking skills and knowledge; share knowledge in a socially responsible way; build information literacy skills; connect with others; gain an appreciation of the arts and humanities; and pursue personal and aesthetic growth. Our program focuses on helping students acquire and apply skills that are necessary to become lifelong learners and productive citizens in our diverse and global 21st Century culture and society.
