English Resources:

  • Membean: An online vocabulary tool that will be required for Ms. Greeson's English 10 classes. Membean personalizes vocabulary learning to each individual student based on performance and demonstrated knowledge.
  • STEAL Characterization: Follow the link to find out what STEAL stands for and to use as a reference for writing narrative texts.
  • PSAT Preparation: The PSAT is a pratice version of the SAT exam that is usually taken during junior year. PSATs are administered to all sophomores at PHS and self-selected juniors in the fall of each year.
  • Plot Lines: Plot lines are used in writing narrative essays and stories. Using a plot line helps to organize thoughts and to cover all of the different parts of a good story.

  • Occupation Profiles: This website is designed to further your career research by looking into the specifics for different careers. Look into how much a specific career pays in your state, what education is needed, and much more.
  • Suicide Prevention: A great resource in understanding suicide and how to seek help when necessary. The national lifeline is also on this site.
  • Need to De-Stress?: Visit this website for a few ideas of how to de-stress right now.
  • STIs: The Center for Disease Control and Prevention's website is a great resource for all things STIs and more.


General Resources:

  • Turnitin: A website used for all English classes at PHS and an absolute requirement for English essays. Originality reports are generated for each paper submitted to the site and reviewed to avoid any attempts of plagiarism. If you are having trouble submitting a paper when required, please email me a copy of the essay before the due date and make an A+ appointment to troubleshoot.
  • Petaluma High School: Any information that you need about Petaluma High School can be found here.
  • Purdue OWL: This site is a great resource on MLA formatting and Works Cited pages. It is also a wonderful place to find reviews on grammar and writing mechanics.
  • Quizlet: This site allows you to create flashcards for vocabulary words. This is a popular study tool in English.
  • Petaluma High School Library: PHS' library is an outstanding resource both online and on campus. Find research databases, updated PHS information, library books, and more all in one place!
