Boardmaker Studio - Introduction

Boardmaker Studio is available to select Special Education Staff. Contact your AT Coordinator for more Information.

Purpose:

Used to create visual schedules, supports, and academic activities supported with pictures and text. Activities can be interactive on the computer or printed.

Student Requirements:

Students must be able to use the mouse to navigate around the computer. (Interactive content only)

Students must be taught the association between pictures and their meanings.

How it works:

Teacher Use - teachers start from templates and are able to design materials to be used by the students. Materials are then accessed electronically, or printed for off computer implementation.

Student Use - Interactive activities can be completed on the computer. Print based tasks may be completed as worksheets or folder games. Visual supports may be used to design schedules, label the environment, or establish expectations with visual support.

Competency Activity - Participant must customize a pre-made template in Boardmaker Studio.

1. Choose any of the sorting templates and customize the content to meet your needs.

2. Be sure to include in your customization one picture from outside of the Boardmaker library (internet).

3. The activity must be at least two pages long.

4. Each page must include the next page and print page gadgets.

5. The participant must upload the activity to www.boardmakershare.com and tag the activity with Pendergast Competency Activity.

Course Credit

To receive credit for this course in MyLearningPlan, employee must:

1. Register for Boardmaker Studio Introduction - Online Course in My Learning Plan

2. Complete the Competency Activity

3. Email your AT Coordinator to request credit.
