Melissa Gallagher earned her undergraduate degree in Chemistry and secondary education certification from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Melissa earned her graduate degree in education from Capella University and also a National Board Certified science teacher. A mother of three, and military spouse, Melissa and her family completed multiple tours in the United States and Germany. Most recently, Melissa has taught middle school sciences at Topsail Middle School, in Hampstead, NC, for 4 years and heads the Science Olympiad Team and was the 2016-2017 year’s recipient of Teacher of the Year. She currently works at Surf City Middle School teaching 8th grade science.
