The National Art Honor Society (NAHS) is designed specifically for high school students in grades 9-12. In 1978, the National Art Education Association began the National Art Honor Society program to inspire and recognize students who have shown an outstanding ability and interest in art. The NAHS strives to aid members in attaining the highest standards in art scholarship, character, and service, and to bring art education to the attention of the school and community.
To remain a member in good standing, a member must pay dues and complete a minimum of 10 service hours in visual arts or in the local community each semester.
Grades: NAHS members MUST retain a grade of 80/B or higher in ALL art classes, no exceptions. This is an official NAHS rule.
Dues: An annual dues fee of $8 will be collected from each member upon acceptance to NAHS, which includes national member registration and supply fees.
Attendance/Participation: Attendance is required at meetings to retain membership and privileges. Members are expected to participate in 80% of NAHS meetings, fundraisers and other events
