Welcome new and returning Pirates! I am excited for the 2024-2025 school year! This will be my 15th year teaching visual art and my eighth at THS. I graduated from Winthrop University (go Eagles!) in Rock Hill, SC with a Bachelor's of Arts in Art Education with a minor in Art History. I also spent a year in college living in Florence, Italy and attended Florence University of the Arts where I had the incredible opportunity to study famous artworks up close and in person. This experience ignited my passion for art history and the importance of studying art from around the world. So far I've traveled to 9 different countries! My favorite was in Summer 2015 when I traveled to Guatemala to teach art and work with local teachers in small districts in the villages around Guatemala City. In addition to traveling and creating personal art, I have a passion for competitive swimming and have taught/coached swimming for 20 years!
When not in the classroom, I can be found spending time with my husband and daughter at the beach, kayaking or corralling our two cats and dog.
