Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

SELECTION PROCESS:

• Why does PNP refuse to take in older students (21 years old and above)?

Because we wish to harmonize life in the center such that students who live together share the same age.

If a student is already enrolled in college, can he or she apply for PNP’s scholarship?

Theoretically, if the student is already in college, he/she doesn't need us. We consider however that whose who are poor but are enrolled in college thanks to the support of an organization or person (fund...) can apply for PN's scholarship.

If a student is currently working, can he or she apply for PNP’s scholarship?

Yes

If a student has graduated from ALS and has passed the ALS Accreditation & Equivalency Test, can he or she apply for PNP’s scholarship?

Yes, provided he has been promoted to College.

Can a student take the exam without having attended the IS?

Yes, but we recommend they researched PN and the scholarship ahead of the exam to gather information that was presented during the IS. They should also download, fill out and bring the Application Form at the exam (it can be found in the "Documents and Forms" section of this Portal).

What are the specific subjects in the exams?

English: grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension

Math: basic operations, solving equations, mathematical reasoning

Logic: series, affiliated meanings, picture analogy, syllogism, logical reasoning

Do we need to score a high grade at the exam?

This is not a competitive exam, it’s just to find out if the applicant can be trained in our IT program or not. A passing grade is set for each subject, but it’s not high.

How difficult is the exam?

The math is simple. Some students who got bad grades in school actually pass the exam. Students can study math, logic and English on their own before the exam to practice (see the "Exam Sample Questions" in the "Documents and Forms" section of this Portal).

How many students will be selected from my area?

There is no quota assigned per area. What determines the number of student selected is how well they do at the exam and the motivation interview.
