7 Habits of Happy Kids

At Jaindl Elementary, we help our students in being responsible citizens. We want them to show initiative, and we teach them how to set attainable goals and meet them. In order to be successful in their lives, our students need to get along with people of various backgrounds and cultures. We foster creativity in our learning environments, and we want our students to work effectively as a member of a team. As soon as our students enter our doors at Jaindl, we focus on being proactive by teaching them how to effectively resolve conflicts and solve problems.

Being proactive is actually the first Habit in Sean Covey's book, 7 Habits of Happy Kids. Think of personal growth as you would the growth of a tree ... You have to plant the seed and nourish well in order for the roots to grow and become anchored, before the rest can flourish :)

I have included some references for you that will help to explain the Seven Habits and the philosophies behind each one in more detail. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. The premise behind the Seven Habits is “personal leadership” with a fundamental belief that every child can be a “leader of their own life, has unique talents, and can make a positive difference in the world.”
