benefits of a scholarship fund

  • Pottawattamie County Community Foundation is your connection in helping to preserve and grow the quality of life in our region by supporting higher education for area students.

  • Scholarship Funds can be established in honor or memory of a loved one, or to recognize a family, business, or a specific area of interest.

  • Donations can be made to scholarship funds at anytime throughout the year, and could be eligible for the Endow Iowa Tax Credit and other benefits available through the Community Foundation.

  • Scholarship Funds can be created now or through your will or estate planning. PCCF works with the donor(s) and professional advisors to support both the scholarship fund, and donor's wishes. PCCF accepts gifts of many types, including but not limited to: cash gifts, financial investments, bequests, gifts of grain, stocks and securities, livestock, real estate, and vehicles.

  • PCCF works closely with the Southwest Iowa Educational Foundation (SWIEF) to help our youth with their postsecondary education needs. Visit the SWIEF website for more information.

  • Additionally and if applicable, PCCF can help establish and administer scholarships funds for donors interested in awarding scholarships to students outside of southwest Iowa.
