Once again the Leadership Council demonstrated servant leadership by providing Christmas gifts to five children in the Onalaska community.  This is a highlight for the students as they organize the event and then come together to wrap and deliver the presents to the Onalaska Alliance Organization.  It is a great learning experience and gesture of kindness for our amazing students!

Aquaculture students presented at the 71st Annual NW Fish Culture Concepts Workshop on Dec 7th in Portland, Oregon. The students, Kiley Archey, Tommy Hornsby, Robert Gilbert, and Carmen Ibarra presented a 45 minute long presentation in front of 320 Aquaculture Professionals. No other students have ever presented at this workshop and they did amazing. They received the highest praise out of 35 presentations. Here is a quote from a hatchery manager;  "... I have rarely been more impressed than I was on the morning of December 7th. The students who presented that morning were amazing! They have actually restored my faith in our youth.... Public speaking is not easy and all of your students that presented were very well prepared, to say the least." If you see one of these students, be sure to congratulate them!

Skills USA students received professional training on Handgun Law, Safety, and Fundamentals from the Firearms Academy of Seattle.

12 students attended this training and the instructors reported that they were very impressed with how well these students listened and followed directions!

Hello Logger Community!

School is up and running and the Onalaska staff is excited to begin what we are calling a “normal” year. We hope Covid is behind and we can get down to the business of properly educating students. There is plenty going on here. Fall sports are in full swing. I invite you to come out and cheer on the Logger Soccer, Football, Cross Country and Volleyball teams. The aqua culture class is busy with their fish, the business class has opened a new IT program called TEALS, and much, much more.

We have some new staff at OHS. Mrs. Folgner is our new FFA and Ag teacher, Ms. Stevens is teaching Home Ec for us, Mr. Cole has stepped in to teach English, and Mrs. Kenny has moved into the academic counseling role. We have also brought in Ms. Barnum as a mental health specialist to work with students to navigate their teenage years. Please click the below form if a referral to Ms. Barham is needed.

I am looking forward to getting to know the entire Onalaska community. Thank you for the warm welcome.

Remember, everyday is a great day to be a Logger!

Two very lucky Onalaska High School students got the chance of a lifetime on September 8th @ Northwest Sports Cards. They learned about the industry of sports memorabilia and their value, including needing signatures and company authentication.   They learned about price points and covering costs. They also got to meet Seattle Mariners Starting pitcher Luis Castillo, a 2x All Star.

Allison Caldwell and Luke Barrick  managed ticket sales and inscriptions at the event.  A great start to a great year!

Nate Conkey, Jaycee Talley, Melissa Reiman, and Rylan McGraw hard at work making the school look great on their summer break!

Go Loggers!!
