Purpose of the Army Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC)

The Purpose of Army JROTC is “to motivate young people to be better citizens.”


About Orange County's Montpelier Rifle Battalion (MRB) JROTC Program

  • Our MRB JROTC Program goal is to provide a structured environment while using the most current teaching methods and classroom dynamics to motivate and develop our students into future Leaders and better Citizens through "Academic Excellence".

  • Our MRB JROTC program is staffed by a Retired Warrant Officer, Cief Warrant Officer 3 (Retired) Joseph and a Retired Noncommissioned Officer, First Sergeant (Retired) Charles A. McIntyre.

  • Our MRB JROTC program is logistically funded by U.S. Army Cadet Command at Fort Knox, Kentucky and administratively supported by the 4th Brigade JROTC Headquarters at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

  • Our MRB Website is where all New Cadets should become familiar with the Class Syllabus, Cadet Creed, MRB Ethos, MRB Leader Oath, Unit History, the MRB Cadet Handbook, and the JROTC Cadet Reference Book.

Issued Uniforms

We provide the Army issue Dress Army Service Uniforms (ASU) at no cost to Cadets; including headgear, T-shirts, socks, and footwear. Cadets will keep the T-shirt and socks.

We provide the Army Camouflage Uniforms (ACU/OCP) at no cost to Cadets; including headgear, T-shirts, socks, and footwear. Cadets will keep the T-shirt and socks.
