Rules and Rubric

Rules;

Since each student will be working off the same set of plans, every chair may look the same. In order to advance to a higher level in the marking rubric, I would like to see some creativity. Make this chair your own. Eg. use the CNC to create a custom etching on the backrest, add some colour, or finish it with a stain. Remember, the perfect chair is as individual as the person designing it.

For this project, each student will replicate a working set of drawings that will be used in the manufacturing process of their own Bush Camp Chair. Construction grade material, 2x4 and 2x6, will be given to students for the actual build of their chair.

Students will learn the process in laminating multiple pieces of wood together in order to make wider planks for the backrest as well as seat. By using their drawings and procedure list, students will layout all pieces necessary to complete the project.

Be prepared to take orders around your next camp fire, as everyone will want their own Bush Camp Chair!
