Public Relations

We want to spread the word about the reality of OCD, BDD and Trichotillomania. This reality includes both the effect any of these disorders have on people's lives, and the amount of help that is available to anyone who needs it. That is why we have just created a blog where people can share their stories and inspire others to speak out and avail of the support that is out there. You can read these stories at our new blog!

To submit a story/experience/thought/anything, please email ocdirelandcommunications@gmail.com

If you have your own blog, we would love to republish your posts on the page with permission and links to your blog.

Let's move things forward!

We have some great news to share. Pat Kenny did a segment on Obsessive Compulsive Disorder where you will hear from our (now former) clinical adviser Leslie Shoemaker, Counseling Psychologist, and some amazing people who are speaking out about their experiences with OCD/TTM. Aired on 26th September, 2013, Pat Kenny Show, 10.00 -12.00. Listen now on Playback.

OCD Awareness Week

'OCD Awareness Week' is hosted by OCD charities around the World including OCD-UK and the International OCD Foundation in the US every year in October. The week provides the charities with our big opportunity to focus our efforts on increasing understanding and to raise awareness about this much-misunderstood illness, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) as well as the related disorders of Trcihotillomania(TTM) and Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) . OCD Awareness Week 2013 was held on October 14th-20th.

Keep an eye on this page for more details about events planned by OCD Ireland for this year's OCD Awareness Week.

This is where you will find all the events planned by OCD Ireland where you can meet people, help our cause, and have a great night!

One of our main aims is to educate people about OCD, BDD, TTM and the amount of support that is available to them. So this year we will be making videos, information leaflets, flyers and posters and distributing them around Ireland.

But, we can't do this alone! We need the support of people who will donate to OCD Ireland so we can create these and get them to as many people as possible. So we have a lot of fun things planned that people can get involved in: pub quizzes, music gigs, comedy nights, and more!

Keep an eye out on this page to find out what fun things we have planned coming up!
