Application Eligibility
Undergraduate engineering, science or math students with interest in areas of Electrical and Computer Engineering. (Freshmen, undeclared majors and community college students are welcome to apply)
GPA: 3.0 or above
In accordance with National Science Foundation requirements, all participants must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States.
Students cannot be working or taking classes at the same time as the program.
We are particularly interested in providing opportunities for women and underrepresented minority students.
No prior research experience required!
Important Dates
The 2026 ApREECE Summer REU program is scheduled to take place May 18 to July 24, 2026. Application materials are to be submitted no later than March 1, 2026 for full consideration. Applications received after the due date will only be considered if there are still slots available. Students will be notified of acceptance into the program in early-March.
Application Materials
The application for the 2026 Summer ApREECE REU Program at Oakland University consists of three parts:
a form that must be completed by the applicant,
a transcript (web-based printout acceptable),
two letters of recommendation.
