Dear Students, I am so happy to have you in my classroom! We will have a great year! We will have fun, work hard, and have patience as we work through challenges together. Happy learning! :) -- Mrs. Christopher
Dear Parents, I'm happy to have your child in my classroom. Here is a little information about me.
I've been teaching for 12 years, and I've taught kindergarten, first grade, and second grade. I have a Master's Degree in Education from UNLV. I love working with primary age children and watching them learn and grow!
I’m originally from Buffalo, New York, and I have lived in the Las Vegas area for 20 years. I’m married, and I have an 19-year-old son who attends the College of Southern Nevada. Hiking, biking, and attending concerts are three of my favorite hobbies.
I like to have a positive, kind, and productive classroom. To ensure that my classroom will be the best learning environment for your child, there are certain expectations I have for my students. They are as follows:
1. Listen and follow directions.
2. Stay on task.
3. Be respectful and kind to others.
I will use the Class Dojo program to track each student’s behavior. With this program, students earn points for making good choices and lose points for poor choices. Parents can view their child’s Class Dojo progress any time. (Details about accessing Class Dojo will be provided soon.) The 3 students who earn the most Dojo points in a week will get to choose a prize.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have. You may email me at Chrisjm4@nv.ccsd.net or send me a message on Class Dojo. I usually reply within 24 hours.
I know that through cooperation and communication, we will have a successful, fulfilling, and fun year!
Educationally Yours, Mrs. Christopher
