Welcome Back Huskies!
Our first day of band will be Friday, August 22, 2025 and our first day of playing will be Tuesday, August 26, 2025. Please contact your rental store and make arrangements for your students' instrument to be ready to go by this date. Incoming 5th grade students who played in band last year are expected to continue on the same instrument unless given permission by Mrs. D for an instrument switch. This procedure is an effort to maintain balance in the band or orchestra.
New players will be evaluated in the first two weeks of school. Parents will be emailed their student's instrument choice and necessary rental information as soon as the selection is made.
Parents are welcome to rent from any vendor they choose. If you choose to purchase an instrument, please remember that a good quality instrument that will not break easily, can be repaired if damaged at a music store, will last for years, comes from a reputable source. Discount websites and stores will often have what appear to be great deals on instruments. In terms of musical instruments, "You get what you pay for," and "If it's too good to be true, it probably is, " are usually the case. If you have any questions about an instrument you are considering for purchase, please reach out to me or to Mr. Goltz. We will help in any way we can!
