Musicianship Goals

• Use a singing voice

• Perform the beat and rhythm

• Perform simple ostinatos with body percussion, rhythm instruments, and Orff instruments

• Perform beat, rhythm and broken borduns on the Orff instruments

• Perform one ostinato while multiple other ostinatos are performed

• Perform rounds and partner songs

Music Literacy Goals

Students will be able to perform, read, and create music with:

• Sixteenth notes

• Dotted half note

• Dotted quarter note and single eighth note

• Absolute note names on the music staff (ABCDEFG)

Continue performing, reading, and creating music with rhythms and pitches from 3rd grade including:

• Quarter notes and quarter rests

• Paired eighth notes

• Music staff

• Do, re, mi, so, and la

• Two quarter notes tied together

• Half notes and half rests

• Whole notes and whole rests
