Adaptive PE

Course Description

Adaptive Physical Education is physical education which has been adapted or modified, so that it is as appropriate for the person with a disability as it is for a person without a disability. Our goal in adaptive PE is to teach students with disabilities the physical, social, and emotional skills that can allow them to be successful as lifelong movers. In adaptive PE, students are introduced to simplified activities and games that will prepare them for activities that they will experience in general physical education. Students also learn basic fitness skills such as using cardio equipment, free weight dumbbells, weight machines, and resistance bands.
