Q: What does my College account give me access to?
A: Your college account gives you access to the college portal which allows you to access many resources including Gmail, Navigate, Blackboard and many other services.
Q: How do I access services through the college portal?
A: The College portal is a tile-based system where you can search on keywords, additionally there are categories that you can select that will display tiles and services related to that category.
Q: I forgot my MyNorthshore credentials. What should I do?
A: On the MyNorthshore login screen, you can use the "Recover your username" and "Forgot your password"/"Can't access your account?" links to regain access. Please note that if you do not have Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) set up, you will not be able to reset your password and will need to reach out to the helpdesk for assistance.
Q: I am getting the following error message when trying to log in (Click on the error message for more information):
"Your account is currently blocked"
"You cannot access this right now"
Q: Why do I occasionally get logged out of MyNorthshore?
A: The MyNorthshore portal has a 60-minute inactivity timeout for security reasons. If you’re inactive for this period, you’ll be automatically logged out.
Q: Is the MyNorthshore portal a secure site?
A: North Shore Community College’s MyNorthshore portal is an authorized Digicert Trust Site. Your MyNorthshore username and password are transmitted to the portal in a secure (SSL encrypted) internal frame. Any sensitive information a user exchanges through the MyNorthshore portal cannot be viewed by anyone else on the Internet. This includes credit card information, grades, and registration.
