The 4 Keys to Success!

Creating a positive and safe environment in the classroom is crucial in the academic and social development of young children. In our classroom, there are four keys to success that will be stressed on a daily basis:

Be Positive! Each day students will read and discuss a specific quote that enforces the concept of positive thinking. I encourage you to ask your son/daughter about the Quote of the Day on a nightly basis.

Stay Out of Your Comfort Zone! Students will learn that in order to find success in life they must get out of their comfort zones and take smart risks with their learning and everyday actions. Failure is not something to be ashamed of or fear, but rather something to learn from.

Have a Good Self-Image! Students will realize that they must first learn to respect themselves before they can respect others. We all move in the direction of our dominant thinking. Simply put, if we learn to think positively about ourselves and others, we will tend to become positive individuals. If we think more negatively, we will tend to become more negative.

Always Work Hard and Have Fun! Students will learn that in life, we all need to develop a sense of balance. In my classroom I always stress that it can't always be all work and no fun, but it can't be all fun and no work. There has to be a sense of balance of both hard work and fun. As a result this helps students to realize that balance is a key to success.
