Notetaking
Would you like to see an overview of three different note-taking styles?
Watch on Flocabulary.
Be an Active Note Taker. Don't just copy and paste--put the main ideas, concepts, etc., into your own words. When taking class notes, think of the 5 Rs:
Record (write/type)
Reduce (summarize, paraphrase, put into your your words)
Recite (try to explain the concept to a friend after class)
Reflect (read over your notes and think about what you are studying, and what your personal opinions are, think about what you will do with the information, or if you need additional information)
Review (read over your notes frequently so that you are familiar with the material)
If you prefer to write notes or type your notes, consider using the Cornell Notes method, or this notes page. Not sure if you have enough information for your paper? Use this essay outline organizer.
