Citing Sources
Did you take notes from a book? Follow this format to cite:
Last Name, First Name. Title of Book. Publisher, Publication Date.
Did you take notes from a cartoon on BrainPOP? Follow this format to cite:
"Title of Video." BrainPOP, BrainPOP LLC., 2015. Date accessed.
Did you take notes from Scholastic News or another magazine? Follow this format to cite magazines:
Author(s). "Title of Article." Title of Periodical, Day Month Year, pages.
Did you take notes from a free website? Follow this format to cite:
Author's last name, firstname. "Title of Web Page." Title of Website, Sponsor or Publisher, URL. Date accessed.
Did you take notes from a database such as Britannica, Pebble Go, or Research in Context? Copy and paste the MLA 8 format citation from their tools!
You will alphabetize your Works Cited list by first word of each entry (ignoring "a," "an," and "the").
