About the teachers

Hello!

    I am Ms. "A" and I have been teaching ESL at Hoggard High School for 6 years. I absolutely LOVE my ESL students. Everyday they make me laugh, make me smile and teach me something new. I can't imagine having any other job than this one. 

    I am originally from Marcellus, New York. I went to SUNY Plattsburgh and earned my BA degree. I completed my MA degree from the Monterey Institute of International Studies. I have also studied abroad in Spain and Honduras.

    I live in Wilmington with my husband, 2 wonderful children, 4 cats and our dog, Oliver. We all love the beach, spending time together and we love to travel. Every chance we get we try to go someplace new. We are hoping that very soon we can travel to Hawaii.

    I am a huge music fan. I love all types of music. My family and I often travel to shows or festivals to take in some live music.

    I love to help ESL students so stop by anytime during the school day for help with other classes or just general questions. I am also available from 8-8:30 and from 3:30-4 after school. 

    My goal is to make the ESL room a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable and able to learn and receive academic help at their own pace.
