Graded Work
Graded work will be sent home each week in your child's take-home folder unless the material is being used for re-teaching purposes (such as reviewing a test together). Please check your child's folder for graded work and review with your child. You may also check grades in your child's Powerschool. Powerschool is the best way to stay up-to-date on how your child is doing in the classroom.
Tests/Projects
Tests will be given at the end of each unit and check-ins will be completed throughout the unit to check for understanding. We will be doing several inquiry based projects this year in integrated studies and there may be times when students have to take these home to continue working on them. Parents and students will be notified of due dates, late assignments will be accepted up to 1 week past the due date. Any assignments submitted after the week, will EITHER receive points of OR NOT be accepted.
Water Bottles and Snacks
Please send a healthy snack with your child each day. Snacks will not be provided at school. We will often have a working snack. Water bottles can be brought and kept on your child's desk during the school day.
Food for Parties
If you would like to bring a tasty treat for your child's birthday please let me know at least 2 days in advance. All food for the class must be store bought and will be served during our lunch time.
Homework
Students are expected to read choice book each night for at least 20 minutes. Students should also practice their math facts, each night, to help build fluency. Any classwork that is not completed during the school day should be completed at home that night.
