Student Expectations

BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT

Our goal this year is to create an atmosphere of open communication and respect.  If your child has a problem in class, you will be notified with a phone call or a note in the Anderson folder.  We encourage good behavior with various methods of positive reinforcement.  We will reinforce positive behaviors with weekly/daily rewards and good notes home.  We are working to teach children to monitor their behavior while preparing them for the future grades.  This plan will increase your child’s learning time by decreasing behaviors that interrupt valuable instructional time.

I will be using class dojo during the week and their goal is to earn 80% or higher on their behavior.

            Communication

Open and consistent communication between school and home is one of the best things we can do for you!  Please use your child's Anderson Folder for notes, forms, etc. There will be consequences for children who do not have their planner daily.

****Per New Hanover County Schools policy*** all electronics including cell phones, ipods and game systems are not permitted in school and will be taken by the teacher.  If cell phones are brought to school they must remain off and kept in book bag.

Volunteers

If you are interested in volunteering, a great time to volunteer is during our academic blocks to help with centers or during specials to help with copying/clerical work.
