Nurturing (Push In)
One thirty minute whole class lesson per week in all K-2 classrooms. Lessons are based on PETs thinking skills units.
Small flexible enrichment groups for grades K,1 &2. Instruction is in Reading or Math. Reading units are based on Jr. Great Books and The College of William and Mary's Literature Units. Math units are based on Primary Mathematics (Singapore Math curriculum) and Primary Grade Challenge Math by Edward Zaccaro.
Another part of the nurturing component is working with individual students. These are students who show the need for significant differentiation. Units and/or lessons are based on student need and done with individuals or small groups.
AIG Classes (Pull Out)
Formally identified students that need signification differentiation come to the AIG room weekly for small group instruction. Units and lessons are based on reading, math, thinking, and researching skills.
